Where to Stay
There will be two “official” lodging locations: private rooms on the UST campus in Guinan Residence Hall and our host hotel, the Crown Plaza.
Private Room At UST
A private room in Guinan Residence Hall is closest to the action going on at the Cruinniú!
Every room includes a mini fridge, microwave, wi-fi, ensuite bath plus its own climate control.
We received a lot of positive feedback from folks staying on campus last year. It’s convenient, quiet, cool, safe, comfortable, and close to action. Guinan Residence Hall is directly across the street from the parking garage, the campus police station and adjacent to the dining hall. Classrooms and concert hall are just 100 yards away.
If you wish to reserve a UST private room on campus, please select the number of nights and days desired during checkout for your registration. 4 nights are available however a minimum of 3 is required. You will also be asked for the name of the second guest if sharing. You must also indicate if you wish a bedding bundles.
Private Rooms in Guinan Hall must be reserved before May 12, 2025
Please note the following important information:
- All rooms have their own ensuite bath and climate control
- Each room contains microwave, mini-fridge and free wi-fi
- Beds are twin size
- Bedding not included
- A bedding bundle being offered by UST for $25 per person. This will include a set of linens, pillow, blanket and one bath and hand towel
- Bring bedding and towels if not purchasing the bundle
- Bring your own toiletries
- An elevator is available in the building
- A pay as you go laundry is available in each wing
- No Smoking in rooms
- A 3 night minimum stay is required. If sharing a room, everyone must stay the same nights.
- Room fees are non-refundable

IMPORTANT: The person reserving the room MUST provide the legal names (as per ID or driver’s license) for both guests. UST needs this to create the access badges.
Also, the reserving person must pay the entire fee for the room and then negotiate repayment with the other guest.
ACCESS BADGES
UST will be issuing their own ID ACCESS cards for guests staying on campus. This will allow main door access, floor and room access on each card. It will also allow covered parking in the Moran garage if purchased.
Host Hotel
Our host hotel this year will be the Crown Plaza Med Center-Galleria. They are a premium full-service hotel located in the bustling Upper Kirby/Greenway Plaza area. They have recently completed a full remodel of all guest rooms, you will be staying in what feels like a brand-new room!

- University of St. Thomas is 2.1 miles / 12 min
- Hugh O’Connor’s Pub just the other side of Hwy 59, just 5 min away
- Rice Village – a well-known dining & shopping area, is only 2.2 miles
- Many restaurants within one mile, both fine dining, casual and fast food
- Near the museum district, Menil Museum, Rothko Chapel and Galleria shopping area
Hotel amenities
- Includes full breakfast buffet each day for each person registered in a room. Please identify the number of guests in your room when making the reservation as breakfast for GCC guests is included.
- Overnight Parking in our garage will be complimentary for one standard vehicle per room, per day. Additional vehicles will be $15 + tax per room, per night. Please identify yourself as a Gulf Coast Cruinniú attendee when checking in to the hotel in order to secure this special parking rate
- Complimentary WiFi
- Dining and entertaining is available in the hotel’s 2712 Bistro and Bar
- 24 hour fitness center and an outdoor pool
- Available dry cleaning services, the hotel also has an onsite guest laundry
