Cruinniú Terms and Conditions

We are looking forward to a fun and safe Gulf Coast Cruinniú! Please review our Registration and Health and Safety Policies. We ask you to follow these policies as part of your attendance at our event. During registration, you will be asked to acknowledge you have read and agree to these policies.
If you are registering a student under the age of eighteen, you must also review the Youth Policy before registering for the Cruinniú.

Registration

Registration for 2025 will open on Feb 1, 2025. Class size is limited and registration is first-come, first-served. Order of registration is based on submission of registration (not receipt of payment).

Wait lists will be created for classes that fill during the registration period. If openings in the class occur later, the first person on the wait list will be offered the available seat.

Payment

Registrants may alter their selections after registration process and GCC will try to accommodate the changes as much as possible within the limits of class capacities, venues, and other restrictions, and accounting for any price differences between selections. For changes contact us by email via our contact form or the registrar email address in your confirmation email..

Registration payment is made through PayPal. A credit or debit card can be used though PayPal without having an account.

Refunds

Refunds for any cancellations will be made if a wait list registration can fill the seat in the class. If the cancellation is accepted, GCC will return the class tuition minus the cancellation processing fee.

The cancellation processing fee is $15 per class.
Refunds can only be given for class tuition. No refunds are offered for the lodging, meals, parking, concert or merchandise.
To discuss a refund situation, please contact us by email via our contact form or the registrar email address in your confirmation email.
No refunds are permitted after Sunday, May 12th, 2025.

Summary of Registration Deadlines

February 1, 2025: Online registration begins at 9 a.m. (CDT)
May 12, 2025: UST private room reservations cutoff
May 12, 2025: Pre-purchase Parking pass cutoff
May 12, 2025: Meal selection cutoff
June 4, 2025: Online registration ends.

Health and Safety Policies

We are looking forward to a fun and safe Gulf Coast Cruinniú! Please review the following policies. If you are registering a student under the age of eighteen, you must review our Youth Policy before registering for the Cruinniú.

Safety

UST has a campus police department. In case of emergency they can be contacted at (713) 525-3888, twenty-four hours a day (ext. 3888 from campus phones). Also contact a member of the Cruinniú staff to apprise them of the situation.

Health

Many transmissible viruses are circulating in the community, including Covid, Flu, and RSV. We cannot predict their prevalence during our event. We expect anyone with a fever or unusual cough to respect others and not attend.

We follow the guidelines and policies issued by the Public Health Department of Harris County. At the moment masking in public is not required.

We believe our classrooms are well ventilated; we neither require nor discourage masking, but suggest that everyone check back here at the time of our Cruinniú for any change in policy.

As GCC takes place on UST campus, we will follow UST emergency protocol. We will comply with instructions given by UST staff, their police department and city officials.

Youth Policy

We require minors to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. The parent or legal guardian is totally responsible for the safety and behavior of the minor .

Thank you so much for registering for the Cruinniú! Our goals are to increase youth involvement in Traditional Irish Music, expand the community, and pass on the tradition of learning knee to knee.

We are on a university campus and classes will be attended by both adults and minors. Students under the age of 18 and their parents/guardians must read the youth policy below and indicate that you agree to it by checking the box on the registration page.
It will look like: “I have read and agree to abide by the Cruinniú Youth Policy.”

The person who registers the minor for a class needs to provide the name, email and phone number of the responsible parent or legal guardian of the minor.
The phone number should be one that we can reliably reach during the duration of the Cruinniú in case of an emergency.
Minors are welcome at the off campus sessions. All state laws must be observed regarding bars/liquor.

Keys and Maintenance

Residents should report maintenance requests and/or lost or damaged key cards UST Security at (713) 525-3888. For emergency requests after business hours, call (713) 525-3888..

Emergency Procedures

As GCC takes place on UST campus, we will follow UST emergency protocol. We will comply with instructions given by UST staff, their police department and city officials.
In the event of a building-wide emergency or evacuation, everyone is expected to exit the facility promptly and appropriately. Such emergencies will be signified by an emergency alarm or verbal instructions from a UST official.

Quiet Hours

Quiet hours are scheduled from 9:00 P.M. until 9:00 A.M., Sunday evening through Thursday evening, and midnight until 9:00 A.M. on Friday and Saturday.

Prohibited Items

The following items are prohibited in campus housing:

incense
drug or alcohol paraphernalia
flammable liquids
hookahs
hot plates/hot pots
extension cords
firearms and weapons
alcohol
candles
computer routers
knives with a blade longer than three inches
coffeepots with a hot plate (Keurig machines or other similar styles are permitted)

Alcohol Policy

The possession, consumption, or distribution of alcoholic beverages, in any form, will not be permitted in Guinan Hall, regardless of age.

Firearms Policy

Possession or storage of firearms (including imitations), fireworks, explosives, BB guns, pellet guns, paintball or water guns, bows, arrows, spear guns, sling shots, switchblades, hunting knives, knives with a blade longer than 3 inches or any weapons that are potentially dangerous or hazardous in campus housing is prohibited.

Residents and guests are also prohibited from carrying or maintaining such items on their person while on campus housing property. The above rules apply whether or not a resident or guest possesses a license to carry/own a weapon.

University Facilities

University furnishings and equipment must remain in their designated locations. Residents and guests may not remove University furniture from their rooms.

Smoking

Residents must be outside and at least 25 feet from the entrance of any facility when smoking. The term “smoking” is intended to mean the inhaling, exhaling, burning, or carrying of a lighted cigarette/electronic cigarette, vape, cigar, pipe, or other lighted tobacco product, in any manner, or in any form. Smoking is not allowed on balconies or within the courtyards or gates of University housing.

Cigarette/cigar butts, tobacco, ashes, matches and matchboxes/books must be properly extinguished and then placed in a trash receptacle.

Animals

No pets are permitted in University buildings. Only service animals and emotional support animals are allowed.

Bicycles

Bicycles may be parked on University provided racks and under stairwells (no more than 2 bikes per stairwell opening).

Bicycles should not be chained to sign posts, railings, walkways, or otherwise attached to any interior or exterior structure not designed for this purpose.
